Daily Digest: Dems head to MN

Good morning, the Daily Digest is back with a handful of news items worth reading as you start your Monday.

1. The declared candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination will be in Minneapolis on Friday to talk to a meeting of the Democratic National Committee. Those candidates include Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders but not Joe Biden. The vice president is still thinking about getting into the race as Clinton continues to face heat over her private email account when she was secretary of state. Biden met with Sen. Elizabeth Warren over the weekend. (CNN)

2. Sen. Amy Klobuchar is the state's most popular Democrat. So now what? (Star Tribune)

3. I've been out for a week and one thing that did not happen is the fade-out of the Donald Trump presidential campaign. In fact, some of the same experts who were saying he was bound to burn out are now saying Trump has staying power. (New York Times)

4. Trump's ideas on immigration are causing some trouble for some of the other GOP contenders, notably Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker who seems to be having trouble settling on a position. (Washington Post)

5. While Trump's campaign is still riding high New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is struggling to find support in the GOP presidential field. (Politico)
