Golnik to direct House Republican Caucus
Long-time Republican operative Ben Golnik will serve as Executive Director for the Minnesota House Republican Caucus.
Golnik is leaving his post as chairman of the Minnesota Jobs Coalition, an independent political group that spent hundreds of thousands of dollars ushering in the Republican majority to the Minnesota House. Republicans won in nearly every district the group invested in.
"Ben Golnik is an experienced and highly capable leader," said Minnesota House Speaker Kurt Daudt, R-Crown. "His work ethic and managerial capabilities are second-to-none. I am grateful to have him on our team as Executive Director."
At least $355,000 of the Minnesota Jobs Coalition's election year money came from the Republican State Leadership Committee, a group based in Washington D.C. that focuses on electing members of the GOP to state legislatures.
Daudt has ties to the group as well. Since early 2014, Daudt has served on Republican Legislative Campaign Committee, an arm of the State Leadership Committee.
Golnik's work at the Minnesota Jobs Coalition may come in handy for Republicans running in 2016. Since he launched the Jobs Coalition, Golnik has touted the organization's ongoing efforts to put Democrats in the hot-seat for the policies they support, and for using consumer data to better target voters and test messages.
Golnik also worked for Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign in Minnesota and the state's Republican party.
