New Franken ad focuses on workforce training – again

Sen. Al Franken's latest ad closes the loop on a dust-up between him and one of his Republican opponents, Mike McFadden.

In May, Franken released his first campaign ad, which focused on his efforts to expand job training programs.

McFadden fired back, pointing out that the legislation Franken touted in the spot hadn't been signed into law.

Things have changed since May, and Franken wants to make sure voters know that.

His newest spot highlights a workforce training bill President Barack Obama signed into law earlier this month. The law includes a program similar to one Franken has been lobbying for that would create partnerships between businesses and two-year colleges to make sure graduates have the skills to work in certain fields.

There's no word yet on how much the campaign plans to spend on the ad.
