State Rep. Kurt Zellers, R-Maple Grove, says he  won't seek the Republican party's endorsement for governor.

Zellers, who has said he'll run in a party primary, says he will not even put his name in nomination tomorrow at the  Republican Party Convention in Rochester. Zellers says he's decided to run in the primary because many Republican voters didn't have the time to go through the caucus system.

“There’s a lot of folks that can’t be here this weekend whether it’s a time commitment or cost,” Zellers said. “And they have said give me a chance to vote for my candidate.”

Zellers isn't the only Republican who will run in a party primary regardless of who win's this weekend's endorsement. Orono-based  businessman Scott Honour says he too will run in the  primary.
