Together, Franken and DSCC raise $36,500
Another political fund meant to help DFL Sen. Al Franken win re-election has posted its latest finance report.
The 10,000 Lakes Victory 2014 fund raised about $36,500 since the start of the year, when it was first created.
It's a joint fundraising committee set up between Franken's campaign and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which helps Democratic incumbents and Democratic Senate hopefuls win.
Franken took $21,000 of the donations and the DSCC took $7,500. The idea is that big-dollar donors can cut one check to help two entities.
This isn't the only outside political fund that's emerged to help Franken keep his Senate seat.
A joint fundraising committee set up between Franken and the Minnesota DFL Party has raised about $110,000 this election cycle, and a political action committee run by WIN Minnesota meant to help Franken and 8th Congressional District Rep. Rick Nolan has raised $224,500 since the start of the year, and has $420,148 in the bank.
