McFadden says he has $1.7 million on hand for race against Franken

GOP U.S. Senate hopeful Mike McFadden's campaign says the business executive raised $780, 000 in the last quarter of 2013 and is sitting on $1.7 million for his campaign.

“I am truly grateful for all the support Minnesotans have given to my campaign over the past few months,” said McFadden in a statement. “If there’s anything to learn from 2013, it’s that we can do better as a state and as a nation. Obamacare is still a disaster, the government is still spending too much money and middle class families are still worried about the economy. I look forward to hitting the campaign trail again in 2014 and holding Al Franken accountable for failing to address the challenges that Minnesota families face today.”

Before he can face Franken McFadden has to win the Republican Party nomination.  State Sen. Julianne Ortman, state Rep. Jim Abeler, and St. Louis County Commissioner Chris Dahlberg are also in the race.

None of those candidates has yet released fundraising numbers for the last quarter of 2013.   Franken, too, has not yet reported.
