Elizabeth Warren to campaign for Franken
WASHINGTON - As campaign season really gets underway, DFL U.S. Sen. Al Franken is bringing fellow Senator and liberal icon Elizabeth Warren to Minnesota for a series of campaign events in March.
Franken's campaign announced Wednesday that Warren, who represents Massachusetts, will headline the DFL's Humphrey-Mondale dinner and fundraiser on Mar. 29 and attend several events with Franken.
The pair are popular with liberal Democratic grassroots activists, and this isn't Warren's first time chipping in on Franken's campaign. Franken raffled off a lunch with him and Warren to small donors last year. He also used his very large email list of supporter to raise money for Warren's 2012 Senate campaign. Warren's political action committee has returned the favor by contributing $10,000 to Franken's campaign.
