Voters will decide in 2016 whether an independent commission should be created to set the pay of state legislators. Both the House and Senate dropped a bill to increase legislator pay.

Elections and campaign finance bills drew bipartisan support.

The New York Times took at look at dysfunction in the Ohio IRS office where empoyees were directed to give extra scrutiny to Tea Party groups applying for non-profit status.

Politico reports that House Dems are anxious about the latest troubles for the White House and how they could affect the 2014 midterm elections.
