The Minnesota State Capitol's massive chandelier will soon be hanging high in the rotunda again after a two-year absence.

A public ceremony is scheduled Thursday at 4:00 p.m. to lift the freshly repaired chandelier and relight its 92 bulbs. The diameter of the historic chandelier is 6 feet. Crews removed the chandelier in August 2010 to accommodate repair work on the Capitol's interior dome.

The Minnesota Historical Society said the ceremony will include period songs of the 1900s sung by vocalist Erik Pearson.
