Paul to rally supporters in Tampa today as Isaac slowly approaches
Texas Congressman and GOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul was not invited to speak at the Republican National Convention, so he and his supporters will hold a rally at noon today at the University of South Florida's 11,000-seat Sun Dome.
Thirty-two of Minnesota's 40 delegates to the RNC are Paul supporters. Among them is delegation chair Marianne Stebbins who also chaired Paul's Minnesota campaign. Stebbins says she's expecting Paul supporters to fill the Sun Dome Sunday afternoon to celebrate his message.
"This is the culmination of the campaign because Ron won't be allowed to speak at the national convention itself," Stebbins said. "This is the opportunity for America to hear him in context with the national convention for him to talk about his issues, which are not going to get aired at the national convention."
That message includes Paul's call to audit the Federal Reserve Bank and to dramatically reduce U.S. foreign military operations.

Stebbins and other Paul supporters say they're disappointed the Romney campaign has not done more to reach out to what they call the "liberty" wing of the party.
Although Paul is not speaking at the official convention, his son, U.S. Republican Sen. Rand Paul who represents Kentucky, had a prime-time slot at the podium. But that was before the convention's schedule changed due to the threat Hurricane Isaac; events are now delayed until Tuesday.
Here's a rundown of the Paul rally schedule:
