Black Friday rain

High pressure brings a quiet and nice Thanksgiving day. Friday's inbound low is warm enough for all rain across most of Minnesota. Here's a look ta the sequence of weather eventsthis week  from NOAA's GFS model.

Progressive wave pattern

The jet stream is gyrating through what meteorologists refer to as a progressive wave pattern. The series of trofs and ridges passing overhead is what's producing our wild temperature swings. Another mild bubble of air arrives next week.
