Wettest ‘year’ on record, another soaker Wednesday

We've just recorded the wettest 12-months on record in the Twin Cities.
Last night's soaking rains are the latest salvo in our soggy weather pattern. Many communities in the Twin Cities picked up 1-inch rainfall totals.

The bulk of the significant rain is over, but a few pop-up showers linger today. Tuesday looks sunnier and warmer. The next low-pressure system chugs into Minnesota Wednesday with more waves of rain. Wednesday could be a washout, with another inch-plus for many communities. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Searching for summer
Temperatures feel a bit more summer-like this week after today. 70s will be the rule across most of Minnesota this week, with temps close to 80 in the Twin Cities Tuesday and again by the weekend.
Late summer warmth?
Did I mention the Minnesota State Fair begins next Thursday? The upper air pattern looks warmer toward the closing days of August.
Temps may struggle to reach 90, but several days in the 80s seem likely during the State Fair run this year.
