Nice start to the weekend

You have to love three-day weekends.

If the weather isn't pleasant one day, you have two other chances to see the type of weather that you like!

We're starting our Saturday with plenty of sunshine in parts of Minnesota, but that will turn into a cloud/sun mix.

This Saturday will be much more pleasant than the cool and rainy weather of last Saturday!

Memorial Day will be cool and breezy.

The Twin Cities metro area will see highs around 65 on Tuesday, 70 Wednesday, 72 Thursday and 77 on Friday.

Rain chances

Scattered showers were falling in parts of southwestern Minnesota Saturday morning. The rest of Minnesota will have a chance of occasional scattered showers, anytime from about the middle of Saturday afternoon into Saturday evening.

Northern Minnesota could see scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm Saturday night.

There will be a chance of scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm in northern and central Minnesota, plus the Twin Cities metro area, Sunday and Sunday evening.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's North American Mesoscale forecast model shows the potential rain pattern:

There's a good chance of occasional showers in Minnesota on Memorial Day.

Severe weather outlook

The Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service shows that the best chance of severe weather Saturday and Saturday night will be from eastern parts of Kansas and Oklahoma eastward:
