How rare is Thanksgiving morning snow cover in the Twin Cities?

According to the Minnesota State Climatology Office:

Historically, about one in three Thanksgivings have at least one inch of snow on the ground. The deepest snow pack is a tie with 1921 and 1983, both with 10 inches on the ground by Turkey Day.

Flakes possible

Southwestern Minnesota could see some light snow Thanksgiving afternoon, and it is expected to spread eastward across southern Minnesota and the Twin Cities during the evening hours.

Most spots should end up with less than one inch of accumulation.
