Periods of rain Saturday, some Sunday sun
We don't need any more rain in Minnesota right now, but rain is in our forecast.
Many parts of central and southern Minnesota have seen two to five inches of rain in the past week:
Some spots that didn't receive two inches or more in the past 7 days had several inches of rain from the storms of August 10-11.
The ground is nearly saturated in some areas.

The National Weather Service North American Mesoscale Forecast System model shows the expected rain pattern tonight through Sunday:
Periods of rain are likely over much of Minnesota and Wisconsin overnight and Saturday. A few imbedded thunderstorms are also possible.
The La Crosse office of the National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch, valid until 7 p.m. Saturday, from Wabasha county MN (including the city of Wabasha) through Buffalo county WI, and areas southeast:
It would be good to have your NOAA weather radio nearby overnight and early Saturday, in case some flood warnings are issued.
Cooler temps
Saturday will be breezy, with unusually cool high temperatures. Most of Minnesota will see highs in the 60s:
A few spots in southern Minnesota could touch 70.
If we don’t reach 71 degrees in the Twin Cities tomorrow, it will be our coldest high temp in the metro area since June 1.
A high pressure system will move closer on Sunday, bringing us some sunshine. High temperatures will rebound a bit, into the lower 70s:
