A steamy forecast
Thunderstorms dumped a quick 3-plus inches of rain in Burnsville late Tuesday afternoon, and many other locations in the Twin Cities metro area also saw torrential downpours.

Quieter Wednesday
We'll be between weather systems on Wednesday, so you can expect a quieter day. An isolated shower or thunderstorm could pop up over southeastern Minnesota.
Dew points will be in the upper 60s over much of central and southern Minnesota, with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
Storms return late Thursday
An approaching cold front will ignite some thunderstorms in northwestern Minnesota on Thursday, and they could reach the Twin Cities by evening:
Periods of thunderstorms are expected Thursday night into Friday, and some severe weather will be possible.
It'll be steamy on Thursday, with dew point temperatures close to 70, and highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s in central and southern Minnesota:
It'll be much cooler this weekend, with highs in the 70s.
