Warmer Friday, strong to severe thunderstorms possible on Saturday

We have a very nice Friday on tap, with warmer temperatures and plenty of sunshine.

Highs will be mostly in the 80s over southern Minnesota, and a couple of degrees either side of  80 over central and northern Minnesota.

Some strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible Saturday afternoon and evening, spreading west to east across Minnesota.

The best chance of severe weather in the Twin Cities appears to be late Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening, but that could change with later forecasts.

If you are going to be traveling, it would be a good idea to keep track of which county you are in. Severe weather warnings are issued by counties or portions of counties.

Highs Saturday will be mostly in the 80s, and it will be steamy.

Breezy Sunday

A low pressure system north of the Canadian border will give us a less humid, but breezy, Sunday. Far northern Minnesota could see occasional Sunday showers.

Sunday highs over southern Minnesota will be slightly cooler than our Saturday highs. Northern Minnesota highs will be quite a bit cooler on Sunday:
