Nice and summery today; strong to severe t-storms possible Saturday

I'd call this a nice summer day!

We'll have sunshine and patchy clouds, with highs from around 80 to the lower 80s over most of Minnesota.  Some 70s are possible right along the north shore of Lake Superior.

You'll notice the humidity creep up a bit later in the day.

Some strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible Saturday afternoon and evening. The best chance of severe weather in the Twin Cities will be from about mid afternoon into early Saturday evening.

The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) of the National Weather Service indicates a slight risk of severe weather for most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin Saturday and Saturday night:

Here are the risk categories used by the Storm Prediction Center:

If you are traveling tomorrow or tomorrow evening, it would be good to stay aware of which county you are in.  Severe weather warnings are issued by counties or portions of counties.

Breezy Sunday

A low pressure system north of the Canadian border will give us a less humid, but breezy, Sunday. Far northern Minnesota could see occasional Sunday showers.

Sunday highs over southern Minnesota will be slightly cooler than our Saturday highs. Northern Minnesota highs will be quite a bit cooler on Sunday:
