Severe storms in southern Plains; rain in MN Wednesday
A low-pressure system in Colorado will move east this evening and overnight. It will ignite some strong to severe thunderstorms from Nebraska to Texas. The Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service has already issued tornado watches for those areas:
Areas from Nebraska to Texas could also see some very large hail.
Some very strong to severe thunderstorms had already developed over Kansas by mid afternoon. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's satellite loop shows the Kansas thunderstorms rapidly growing in just a one hour period:
