Morning flakes, breezy and cold

April can be a cruel month!  We had highs in the 60s last Sunday, but it has been very cool this entire week.

We're waking up to snow showers this morning in the Twin Cities. The flakes should move out of here by late morning, but they are a reminder that it is way too early to plant annuals!

Highs today will be 15 to 20 degrees below normal:

We'll also have strong winds today, giving us wind chill readings in the teens and 20s.

Gradual weekend warmup

A high pressure system moves in tonight, which will lighten our winds as we start the weekend:

The next low pressure system will give us a chance of showers late Saturday night and early Sunday, but it will also help temperatures rebound into the 50s Sunday afternoon.

Here are projected Saturday highs:

And now, those milder Sunday highs:

Warmer end to next week

Highs dip a bit for Monday and Tuesday, then we'll see another warmup, starting on Wednesday:

We could hit 60 on Thursday, and highs in the 60s are possible next Friday and Saturday.  We might be able to retire the word "snow" for awhile!
