Cold and windy, flurry or sprinkle possible

You won't be tempted to skip out of work or dine outdoors today.

A low-pressure system just north of Lake Superior will bring us cold northwesterly winds. Occasional snow showers are expected over northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.

In the Twin Cities we could see an occasional snow flurry or sprinkle, with highs in the lower 40s:

Nice warmup Wednesday into Thursday

Our average high temperature this time of year in the Twin Cities is 56 degrees. Temps finally pop back above average on Wednesday, with afternoon readings in the 60s. We  stand a good chance of hitting 70 on Thursday, and lower 70s Friday and Saturday:

Sunday's high is projected to be in the 70s, but it would be cooler if we see some afternoon showers. The weekend forecast will be tweaked over the next few days.
