Highs in the 50s will be common over much of Minnesota, with 40s over the northeast.  There could be a few scattered showers over central Minnesota and portions of western Wisconsin this morning. The Twin Cities will see a cloud-sun mix this morning, followed by mostly sunny skies this afternoon.

High temperatures tomorrow will be even warmer:

Warmest 12 months

On his Friday morning weather segment on MPR last week, University of Minnesota Climatologist/Meteorologist Dr. Mark Seeley talked about the warmth of the past 12 months in Minnesota. Here are some details, as posted on Dr. Seeley's weekly blog:

"Statewide temperatures so far this month would rank March as the 6th warmest in state history back to 1895. Even more remarkable is the departure in temperature for the past 12 months, going back to April of 2015. The past 12 months have been the warmest in state history, and by a considerable margin."
