A few flakes on Thursday
An Alberta Clipper could bring us some periods of light snow from Thursday morning into early Thursday afternoon. Thursday morning commutes could be affected a bit, but no significant snow accumulations are expected.
We saw some impressive snowfall totals from Tuesday into Wednesday morning, and some of us are still clearing our sidewalks and driveways. Areas of southern Minnesota that saw whiteout conditions during the storm enjoyed much lighter winds today.
The Twin Cities Office of the National Weather Service reported 13.5 inches of snow in Bloomington, 13.2 inches in New Hope and 12 inches in Lakeville. Maple Grove in the northwest part of the metro measured only 6.2 inches. The official tally at Minneapolis/St. Paul International airport was 9.4 inches. That is more than twice as much snow as we saw during the entire month of January!
Tuesday's snowfall was very fluffy. The 9.4 inches at the airport contained only .54 inches of water. That was a snow to water ratio of 17.4, while a ratio of 12 or 13 would be more typical in the Twin Cities.

Although we could see occasional light snow Thursday morning and Friday afternoon, no big storms are in sight.

Some spots over southern Minnesota will see highs in the lower 30s by Saturday, and mid 30s on Sunday. A rain/snow mix is possible over southern Minnesota on Sunday, with a chance of snow showers in the north.
