Cooler on Thursday, then temperatures rebound
We topped out at 25 degrees in the Twin Cities on Wednesday, just one degree above our average for this time of year. High temperatures on Thursday will be a bit cooler statewide.
Temps begin to rebound on Friday as we begin the new year.
High temperatures on Saturday should be pleasant in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and we'll see some sunshine.
This December has been remarkably warm. In the Twin Cities, we are on a pace to finish with our second-warmest December, dating back to 1877.
According to the National Weather Service office in Duluth, the port city could set a new record for the latest first subzero reading in a winter season. The current record was set on Jan. 11, 1914.
This is a very unusual beginning to our Minnesota winter!
