Less wind on Friday, warmer this weekend

Our Thursday night will feature gusty winds and a chance of showers in the Twin Cities.  We could even see a few wet snowflakes.

More significant snow is expected over northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.  The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for those areas, valid until 8 a.m. Friday.

Two to four inches of snow are possible in portions of northeastern Minnesota, and some spots in northwestern Wisconsin could see three to five inches.

Most of Minnesota will see some sunshine on Friday, but clouds and some flakes could linger over northeastern Minnesota during the morning hours. Friday will be much less windy, with near normal high temperatures.
