Storms favor northern and southeast Minnesota overnight into Friday morning. Storms in northwest Minnesota and the Red River Valley pack heavy rains, gusty winds and hail.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms become more numerous in the Twin Cities as the day progresses Friday. Here's a rough idea of the estimated radar returns overnight into early Friday.

Rain and thunder focuses on southeast Minnesota Friday. There could be some impressive 1-inch rainfall totals as the slow-moving front slides through. The Interstate 90 corridor may see the heaviest rainfall totals Friday.
