Thanksgiving nor’easter: rain-snow line hugs East Coast
Just in time for the biggest travel day of the year.
A major nor'easter is taking aim at the East Coast Wednesday. The system will likely cause big airport and highway travel delays Wednesday in the eastern United States.
Here's a look at the rapidly deepening low pressure system zipping along the East Coast Wednesday.

Right now it appears the precise storm track and position of the rain-snow line will produce the heaviest snows just inland from the major East Coast cities of Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and New York, but it's going to be a close call.
The latest U.S. models favor a range of between 2 and 6 inches for the big East Coast cities. My eye seems to favor more rain and less snow potentially for metro D.C. and New York, but the rain-snow line will be hanging close by and totals may range greatly over just a few miles.
Boston appears to be in the best position to pick up 6-plus inches with this storm. Heavier inland totals of 8 to 12-plus inches center on western Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Springfield, Massachusetts into New Hampshire.
Many of the major East Coast airports may see this storm start as rain, then change to snow Wednesday. FlightAware's Misery Map will be busy through Wednesday.
