Sub-zero temps again tonight after snow in SE Minn., western Wisconsin

The winter storm warning for portions of east central Minnesota and west central Wisconsin will expire around noon. Brisk northwest winds up to 20 miles per hour will follow in the wake of the snow. Temperatures will fall steadily in southern Minnesota today.

Colder air settles over the state tonight.  Temperatures will drop down to near -20 in the north to -10 in southern Minnesota.

Quiet but chilly weather is on tap for the weekend.  A snow system heads toward Chicago on Saturday. Keep up on the weather if you have travel plans there.

Here's the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's snowfall probability for 4 or more inches on Saturday. The probability stretches through Chicago and into Michigan:
