I know, no one wants to think about the possibility that our summer could be this short. But you have to wonder what the good folks in Silver Bay (34 degrees) and International Falls (37 degrees) are thinking this morning.

Short summer of 2013?

An "omega block" is keeping Minnesota cool while Alaska enjoys the second warmest summer on record with 31 days above 80 so far this summer in Fairbanks. Meanwhile, our unseasonably cool pattern holds into next week.

There is hope that it will warm up for State Fair time, with highs in the low to mid 80s a good possibility.
