Pushing the record for May rainfall

As we spoke about on “Morning Edition” earlier today, some observers in southeastern Minnesota may come close to the record all-time wet month of May in Minnesota history (15.79 inches at St Francis in 2012). The climate observers at the following locations already have individual station records established for the month even though there is a week to go (and it looks like more rain0:

Altura 10.55 inches

Austin 9.03 inches

Grand Meadow 12.13 inches

Ostrander 10.44 inches

Spring Valley 9.16 inches

Rochester 8.63 inches

A potential 2 inches or more is projected for some locations over the next three days.
