List of all-time highest Minnesota January Temperatures

After last week's episode of record-setting warm weather, several MPR listeners have asked about all-time high temperatures in January. Since 1871, daytime highs of 60 degrees F or higher have only been measured in the state in 9 years: 1900, 1931, 1942, 1944, 1946, 1981, 2002, 2003, and 2012. All of these years were also marked by an absence of snow cover in January.

A list of the all-time highest temperature measurements in January:

Jan 26, 1944 63 F at Winnebago

Jan 28, 1946 63 F at Chaska
