Update: Snow pelts SW Minnesota: Twin Cities on the edge
The Alberta Clipper gliding through southwest Minnesota is already laying down some impressive snowfall amounts. So far Canby takes the cake with 3.5" of fresh snowfall.

It still appears the storm is on track to produce the heaviest band of snow from eastern South Dakota into southwest Minnesota and into Iowa. 3" to 7" could fall in these areas by noon Thursday.
The Twin Cities will be on the edge of this system. Look for a chance of light snow tonight. I do not expect heavy snow in the metro. My latest thinking is that we will see only a dusting to around an inch for much of the metro overnight into early Thursday.
Wind and another cold blast will follow the system Thursday. Get set for sub-zero temperatures again before the mercury recovers by Sunday.
