Milder temperatures move in
Remember that January thaw meteorologist Paul Huttner mentioned last Thursday? Those westerly winds blew true, and we're looking up - at least as far as the mercury goes. The Twin Cities may even see 33 degrees on Wednesday, Jan. 13th:

Compared to those single-digit daily highs, a 20-degree jump is practically a heat wave. It is all relative.
Which brings me to the discussion: I've heard plenty from relatives in Georgia and Florida-bound friends who are complaining about the cold snap there. On one hand it is easy to dismiss their weather-whines, after all, they have a full 44 degrees above during the day. Trouble is, that's what, 20-30 degrees below their monthly averages. If we're celebrating a jump just above freezing, can we blame them for bemoaning such sudden lows?
