Jet Streaming Update: Plus weather headlines

Many of you have asked about our one hour Jet Streaming Special which airs next Sunday December 13th at 6pm. Here's an update.

We had a great recording session today with UM climate specialist Dr. Mark Seeley and Pete Boulay from the Minnesota State Climatologists office. Without giving away the store, so to speak, Mark and I made some specific predictions on the winter forecast. We brought in Pete Boulay to talk about some of Minnesota's biggest recent weather events. Mark, Pete and I also answered some great weather questions from listeners.

We also spoke with Dr. Kevin Trenberth this week about the current El Nino, the latest on climate change, and those hacked climate emails in the news. Kevin is the Head of the Climate Analysis section at NCAR-The National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado. He's been named as one of the 10 most important climate scientists in the world by the Financial Times in London.

Well known local meteorologist Paul Douglas will join me next week to talk about how weather technology is changing the way you get weather information. We'll also hear the latest on what Paul is up to these days. Paul and I will also answer some of your weather questions next week, so if you have a burning weather question for Paul and me, please send it along this weekend so we can get it on the air.
