Better weather for mom

It looks like we'll have a little something for everybody this weekend.

Some rain for farmers is moving through southern Minnesota tonight. Look for amounts generally between a quarter and half of an inch. There may be some isolated heavier amounts over 1". At least most of the rain will fall in the evening and overnight.

Update 5:20pm: NWS doppler storm total indicates rainfall of 1.5" to 2" near New Ulm.

Low pressure will pull out of the area Saturday, taking most of the rain with it by early morning. A cool breezy exhaust on the back side of the low will make for a blustery Saturday. Winds may gust to over 25mph at times on the open lakes, so use caution. Experienced anglers know the dangers of cold water on the opener.

Sunday looks like the best bet this weekend. After a chilly start, high pressure will build in and make for a nice afternoon. Look for more sun, less wind and a slightly warmer afternoon.

Whatever you're doing this weekend enjoy. Next week looks warmer and potentially drier as the 70's make a comeback.
