Confound Groundhog

Looks like the groundhog got the last laugh on Minnesota with wind chill readings of 30 below zero and sub zero temperatures in the Gopher State.

Last evening winds gusted to near 50 mph in west central Minnesota, creating blizzard and whiteout conditions. Winds are down some this morning, but there will be a mid-winter feel to the air even with the March sunshine.

Did you know that International Falls has received more than 111 inches of snow this winter season? This is nearly twice the normal seasonal snowfall.

The Red River Valley received about a half inch of unwelcomed moisture near the head waters yesterday. Flood story will enfold there in the next 30 days.
