Before your very eyes

In the next twelve hours a winter weather event will enfold in front of your very eyes over Minnesota. It will be particularly nasty for northern Minnesota, with near blizzard conditiions later today.

There is just enough mild air hanging around the Twin Cities to befuddle forecasters with snow amounts. Let's trim it back to about four inches towards Monticello and two inches in Burnsville as a starting point.

I was just out on the observation deck and felt a few sprinkles. Pavement was wet, not slick. But be careful north and west of the Twin Cities. Weather could turn troublesome quickly.

We all get to join in the cold and wind later tonight and Wednesday morning. Yes, sub zero readings at daybreak in the northland on Thursday.
