Average February

Once we shake out all the daily weather in the Twin Cities we find that February was just about on track with the thirty-year normals. We ended up with slightly more precipitation than normal and just a tad above normal on termperatures. Our warmest reading was 47 and the coldest temperature at the International Airport was five below zero.

The sunshine recorder at the Chanhassen NWS office measured 61 percent of possible sunshine.

Our seasonal snowfall is just over 40 inches, very close to normal. Remember March is our second snowiest month, Keep a heads up to changeable weather in Minnesota in the next couple of weeks.

International Falls accumulated more than 24 inches of snow in February. They were also about three degrees below normal, with temperatures ranging from a high of 40 to a low of 31 below zero.
