Well weather fans, it's that time of the year when the game is picked up a notch when it comes to out smarting Mother Nature.  Although, she usually starts with the upper hand.

During the next 48 hours a developing weather system will form a closed low;  the atmosphere stacked with cyclonic circulation over the central US.

On the warm side there is potential for strong thunderstorms from Kansas to southern Minnesota on Wednesday.  Cold air, on the back side of this system could produce a wintry conundrum for portions of Colorado.

Enjoy today as we once again experience unseasonably mild weather with sunshine and highs topping out near 70 in the Twin Cities.

During Thursday  the colder air is likely to overake the milder air and an occulded front will traverse southern Minnesota.  Our streak of above normal temperatures is expected to come to an end on Friday.  Average maximum and minimum temperatures for this time of year are in the middle 40s and upper 20s, respectively.
