Eyes on the sky
Destructive tornadoes that have been tracked by television crews and chasers in Kansas and Oklahoma have made for spectacular video and fortunately minimal devastation to property.
Saturday evening showers and thunderstorms were erupting in the Dakotas and western Minnesota. Some of the storms could produce hail and gusty winds. A tornado watch has been posted for a small part of northwest Minnesota.
Computer models are hinting that the air mass has become sufficiently more humid to fire up thunderstorms around the Twin Cities overnight.
