Drought Drought Go Away

You can tell by your soggy lawn or field that there is good news again on today's updated U.S. Drought Monitor.

The percentage of Minnesota listed in "drought" is now just 21%. That's down from nearly 60% at the start of this year. On January 1st 48% of our state was in the "extreme drought" category. Today that number is just 7.5%

The biggest winners are the Arrowhead and North Shore, as well as areas from the north metro to St. Cloud.

The timing of our rains lately is excellent. The moisture is able to soak into the trees, soils, lakes and aquifers before the ground feeezes up in ealry December.
