For me it’s weather-based/outdoors-related. Awesome from late March to end of October; totally sucky from November to mid-March

    • You should play hockey more…

      Or ski/sled/hike in the winter…

…but speaking as a city-dweller, the cultural opportunities are pretty unbeatable, regardless of weather or time of year.

Minnesota Nice? Not the persona of a native smashed in the face by an icy-snowball who then gets up throwing, or bounced off the back of a speeding snowmobile and then willingly climbs back on, or walks back to the fishing shack….a five mile trek. I submit “Minnesota Tough” is our true identity. Come here if you are tough enough to handle the weather… and us.

Our people are as varied as our weather.

I don’t know how many metros have a different traffic pattern on the weekend, but a LOT of Minnesota folks “head up north” on Fridays. Does anyone know of city that has a heading-out-of-town pattern too?
