Twin Cities Jazz festival lineup set

The Twin Cities Jazz Festival has announced its full schedule, one that features acclaimed national acts and a strong lineup of local and regional artists.

Headlined by pianist Cyrus Chestnut, the 15th annual festival begins with jazz performances at St. Paul Public Libraries. Sidewalk Café will perform June 16 at Central Library, followed by a June 19 show by pianist George Mauer at Merriam Park Branch Library and June 26 show by Salsabrosa at Riverview Library.

The festival then moves to St. Paul nightclubs and outdoor stages. Here are some highlights:

Amsterdam Bar presents a funk night, featuring five groups. They include The Nexus Ensemble, at 5 p.m., and New Sound Underground, at 11 p.m. At the Black Dog Café, saxophonist Donald Washington is booked for a 9:30 p.m. show.
