If it’s summer, it’s ‘Music & Movies’

During the winter, we Minnesotans pack survival kits in our cars in case we get stranded. Your summer enjoyment kit should include blankets, picnic baskets and clothes you don't mind getting grass stains on when you trek to the Walker's much beloved Summer Music & Movies series.

The Walker released this year's lineup and it's tied together thematically by movies about dreams. The first three events will be held in Loring Park and features Minneapolis indie rockers "Night Moves" paired with the Hitchcock classic "Spellbound" (7/30), afropop pioneer Oliver Mtukudzi and the Black Spirits in tandem with the Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis film "Artists and Models" (8/6), and Rogue Valley with "The City of Lost Children" (8/13).

The series concludes on August 20th at the Walker's Open Field with the ethereal local band Brute Heart providing the soundtrack for the silent classic "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari." Once again, Current DJs' will be spinning between the movies and the bands.
