Vikings may bring back the ‘Baggie’ for soccer crowds

The Vikings say the 'Baggie'--those curtains that closed off the upper deck and retractable seats in the Metrodome for Twins games--might return in their new stadium, although they're not quite sure how.

The team needs to figure out how to accommodate a hoped-for crowd of 25,000 soccer fans if the Wilf family can bring a major league soccer team to Minneapolis. Somehow, they'll have to make the other two-thirds of the NFL stadium look not quite so empty during the Beautiful Games.

Vikings vice president Lester Bagley talked about the "house reduction" issue this week at the announcement of an international soccer game at TCF Bank Stadium, to be hosted by the Vikings and the University of Minnesota in August.
