Vikes stadium builder to pitch in on new Ga. ballpark
Minneapolis-based Mortenson Construction is one of the consortium of construction companies that will be building the new $675 million home of the Atlanta Braves.
It's a member of American Builders 2017, the company that's been selected by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners to build the stadium when the Braves relocate from Atlanta.

"American Builders 2017 is a joint venture between Brasfield & Gorrie, Mortenson Construction, Barton Malow Company and New South Construction. Combined, they have more than 225 years of construction experience and have completed more than 330 sports projects, including Target Field in Minneapolis, Coors Field in Denver and Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore."
Alex Ivanikiw, senior vice president at Barton Malow, told Crain's Detroit Business that each of the companies will be providing staff to American Builders, rather than having each company handle separate parts of the project.
Mortenson won the contract to lead construction of the new Vikings stadium last year, and is about six months into that 31-month project. Work on the Braves new home is expected to begin later this year in Georgia.
The Braves are putting in $240 million up front and will pay $3 million in rent and about $3.1 million in other annual fees. The county is putting in $24 million up front. Here are the financials.
