Stephen Hornstein, president of St. Cloud State University‘s faculty association, tells MPR reporter Conrad Wilson about mysterious changes made to some student transcripts:
“A number of faculty members raised concerns that they believed from what they were seeing that student’s grades were actually disappearing off transcripts. A student would take a course, get a poor grade and then a semester or two later that grade would not appear on the transcript at all.”
The university says students asked for the transcript changes, but it’s not clear whether administrators followed campus policy to consult faculty before making them. Provost Devinder Molhotra says the university is ensuring that departments and their faculty have a say in whether grades are changed or dropped.
