Text: Address of Fairview exec to Senate higher ed committee
I caught up with the speaker, Fairview VP Mark Hansberry, for just a minute as he was walking out the door.
He wouldn't elaborate on the timing of Fairview's decision to end merger talks with the U -- the fact that the decision was announced the same day as Sanford's pullout. He just said that Fairview had given President Eric Kaler a fair hearing and that the offer had been seriously considered. He said he wasn't involved in any board discussion of sticking points of the U's offer were discussed. He said he couldn't speak for the board on whether Fairview would ever reconsider the U's officer, but said generically that it would consider any proposal that would advance its mission.
Not too enlightening.
