What Sen. Bonoff says about the UMN admin pay consulting fee
I was away last week, so am playing a little catch-up during the lull at the Capitol.
Above is a video by Senate higher-education committee Chairwoman Terri Bonoff (DFL-Minnetonka), who, along with state Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk of Cook, asked the University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler to submit a report on administrative spending. (You can find the context in that link, and the actual final report is here.)
That report cost $48,000, and further analysis by consultants will cost another $500,000 or so.
Bonoff says in the video:
"I thought the contract was pretty expensive. I asked President Kaler, 'Couldn't you have structured that with incentive pay? But I wasn't asked, so all I can do is make my editorial comment."
