How MPIRG students got creative at the Capitol

Who says education beats creativity out of students? Pioneer Press reporter Dennis Lien gives MPIRG students props in the paper for their recent environmental lobbying:

Give MPIRG students credit for being the most enthusiastic lobbyists at the Capitol on Tuesday.

Dozens of the Minnesota Public Interest Research Group members urged lawmakers to back proposals increasing the state’s use of solar power to reduce dependency on fossil fuels.

At one point, they even broke into song on the steps leading to the Senate chambers, playing off an old Beatles tune, “Here Comes the Sun,” to get their point across.
